Hello...It's Me,

Amyfraser.co.ukWelcome to Engineering Home

Hi I'm Amy, a twenty-something Welsh girl now
living in Cambridge. I drink a lot of gin, eat as much cake as I can and occasionally go to the gym and cry at how unfit I am! I like to take photos on my daily adventures (to my friends on-going annoyance) so expect a LOT of selfies. Occasionally my friends will take a photo of me, but usually only if I have a drink in my hand...

I am a Process Engineer working full time in the water industry. Its a very demanding, time consuming and (sometimes) stressful job but I love what I do.  Engineers are focused in the design and building of things, so as surprising as it might be, being creative for me, is an extension of this focus. As I don't get as much free time as I would like (who does?) I don't like to feel my time is wasted. Spending an hour crafting and making something rather than watching tv is much more rewarding for me!

What is all this about?

As way of explanation let's look to the Oxford English Dictionary:
              1.  A person who designs, builds or maintains engines, machines, or structures.
1.1.  A person qualified in a branch of engineering, especially as a professional.
              1.  Design and Build .
2 . Skilfully arrange for (something) to occur.
Any help? Probably not!

I've called my blog Engineering Home because, well I am an Engineer and I want to build a beautiful and functional home and maybe along the way get the skilful part down too. I consider myself a Jack of all trades and master of none. I dabble in EVERYTHING! I have attempted jewellery making, knitting, crochet, baking and so many other things. I am always wanting to try another new thing (screen printing is next on my list!) I am a novice in all these things and my house is by no means the perfect home yet.

I became a Stampin' Up demonstrator a little over three years ago, because it fits well into my life and how I like to craft.  For me it saves precious time and helps me get to the fun part of crafting - actually making something! It has opened me up to some amazing new experiences and helped build my confidence immeasurably.

This blog covers my adventures in life and of course everything crafty. If I can inspire you to try something new or create something handmade then this is more then worth my time.

If you have any questions, or would just like to shave a chat my email is below, Please feel free to say Hi!
