This week we were given our sketch by the very mean Hannah! If I am your first stop on todays hop you will be wondering what I am talking about so let me show you!
Here is this week's sketch:
Yes that is pretty much a blank canvas! My first thought was "oh good, I can just leave my card blank and ask everyone to use their imagination to envisage a card". Instead I took this weeks sketch to heart and used my imagination to come up with a simple card that I am actually really happy with and think sticks close to the simplicity of the sketch!
Here is my take on the sketch:
I wanted to keep my card as flat as possible, with very little extra dimension. I wanted to stay close to the sketch but still wanted to add interest and texture.
I used the excuse to get out my aqua painters and opened a new pack of shimmery white cardstock. I love it! it's great for watercoloring on and it has this lovely glitter to it which you can just make out in the photo below.
I used the lovely Timeless Texture stamps to add dimension on the card along with a stripe line from the You're So Lovely stamp set which matches one of the kits in the Spring Summer catalogue and has fast become one of my favourite stamp sets! I haven't even made the kit yet and I have been using it for so many other things! I finished it off with a birthday sentiment from Birthday Blooms and some sequins and candy dots because I couldn't resist a little bit of 3D!
I cannot wait to see what all the other talented ladies have created with this week's sketch! I am sure there is going to be a lot of inspiration to be taken from this weeks hop! There is nothing like a challenge to bring the best out of everyone!
