Hello again! I'm so grateful for you all visiting me and hopping along with us. To those of you who have joined me from Hannah's blog, welcome!

Here is this week's sketch:

It was my turn to design the sketch this week. Even so it was still a challenge for me to create with it. Some of you may know that it was my birthday yesterday and I was a very lucky girl! I wanted to say thank you for all the lovely birthday messages and so todays card is dedicated to all of you! Here is what I did with the sketch.

I decided to keep it simple and follow the sketch completely. This week I used the Typeset designer series paper and complimented by using Very Vanilla cardstock for the card. I used Tip Top Taupe as the background and Pool Party in the foreground. I used a stamp from the another thank you set and finished it off with the natural chevron ribbon and three Pool Party buttons. I love unthreading the end of the ribbon, I think it makes it look like a scarf. It's like the card is giving you all a big hug from me!

I hope you have been inspired by the sketch or my creation, if you have please feel free to join in the sketch challenge and share your creations with me. In the meantime please keep hopping, next again is the lovely and talented Sam. Please click on the next button below to check it out!

See you in two weeks!

Change for life - Week 2

Amy Fraser
Over the summer I was challenged to get more active and join the Couch to 5k Plan. To help me stay on track I am documenting my progress on my blog for everyone to see!

I think the second week of any new thing is always the hardest. Starting something is easy, its sticking with it that's difficult. Although I have the best intentions I am often guilt of not finishing things off! My room is full of half finished projects and material bought for a specific job that I've never gotten around to getting done.

Running for me is worse than all of those things, so its amazing that I managed to get to week 2 at all. A friend at work joined me for week 2 and I think that really helped motivate me to keep going. If you are thinking of taking up the couch to 5k challenge I would highly recommend a buddy! I am chuffed that I finished it!

Something that isn't appreciating the effort to get fit... My KNEES!!! Let me tell you, climbing stairs is not a pleasant activity and neither is sitting down or standing up. Which density decided would be the most suitable activities for me this week!

I did as anyone would do, I googled what to do about it and moaned to my colleagues. The RICE method was recommended to me by a number of people along with the change for life website.
RICE stands for:
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

I'm still undecided whether it makes any difference or not but I'm sticking with it for now!

So I have now completed 6 runs and feeling quite proud of myself. Only 7 more weeks to finish and I will hopefully be running 5k.

Wish me Luck!

Sisters!

Amy Fraser
Today I am off having a relaxing time at a spa with my sister. It was a special birthday treat for her and I am very lucky that she wanted to bring me along! To celebrate the occasion I wanted to share the things that I made for my sisters birthday and I also want to tell you all a story!

My sister LOVES buttons

My sister is an inspiration, she is a very busy mummy and yet she manages to be there for me whenever I need her. She supports and encourages me in everything I do.

My sister and I have had many opportunities to craft and it has always been a way for us to spend some quality time together. When my sister joined Stamping Up! I was very excited about the products and couldn't wait to become a customer. Eventually she convinced me to join as a Demonstrator, explaining that there was no requirement to sell to others ( I didn't need much convincing if I am honest).

I made this card using the colours Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder and Very Vanilla. I also used the typeset designer series paper.
Joining Stampin Up! has not only brought me new opportunities, it has meant I have be able to meet some amazing people and do some really fun things. Most importantly though it has helped me become even closer with my big sister. We have shared so many great experiences together and it has been wonderful to have her by my side while I've been having all this fun.

Stamping Up! have a motto : Inspire, Create, Share. It's normally used to explain how demos can make a success of selling but it is also very true for the personal side of being a part of a team of people who love what they are doing. I am so grateful I get to be inspired by my sister, create with her and share all these great experiences with her!

In the next few weeks we will be travelling together to go the Stampin Up! convention in Brussels and I can't wait to tell you all about the fun we have. In the meantime I'm off for a massage! :)

I hope you all have a very happy Sunday!

Foodie Friday - gingerbread cupcakes

Amy Fraser
Happy Friday everyone! I think we all deserve a treat for being so good this week so I am sharing some sweet treats that I've been making recently.

Last week it was starting to get very autumnal here in Kent and this made me very excited! I was looking forward to wearing jumpers and drinking hot chocolate and not getting strange looks.

Change for life

Amy Fraser

Over the summer I made an usual commitment. It's one of the reasons why I was so busy and neglected my blog! A friend of mine has been trying to get more active and wanted a comrade.

Now if you know me, you know that I am not into exercise. I am a cake eating armchair lounger. I am however very competitive and I can never turn down a challenge.

So when this friend challenged me to join her in undertaking the Change for life couch to 5k I had to accept. I did not want to do it, but my pride wouldn't let me quit! I was dreading the first run. I was sure I was going to fall flat on my face!

But I downloaded the app, got my exercise gear ready and set the alarm for 6am (why?!)

The first week was hard even though it was only 8 minutes of running. It felt so good to achieve it! It's so different to any exercise I have ever tried before because there are a group of us doing it together and its been paced so that it builds you up gradually. As much as I hate exercise, I knew that I really needed to get active and start looking after my health. I didn't enjoy the first week but it did give me the motivation to keep going!

If you are thinking of getting more active I would recommend the Change for life couch to 5K challenge. Its designed so that everyone can achieve it and its limited to 3 chunks of 30 minutes a week. An hour and a half every week to help get yourself healthy is a small price to pay and the feeling of accomplishment when you complete the first week is a great boost.

If you want to learn more about the challenge check out the details here

And just in case the motivation disappears I hope to keep you updated with my progress. Let me know how you are getting on if you take on the challenge!

Spring Summer and SAB Catalogue Launch!

Amy Fraser
Today is a very exciting day. Today is the day that the Stampin' Up! Spring Summer Catalogue is launched. It's also the first day of Sale-A-Bration and this means you can get gorgeous crafty stuff FREE! If you saw and hopped along with the blog hop on Saturday you will have fallen in love with what you can get with every £45 you spend (yes...that means if you spend £90 you can pick two items!)

Keeping with the theme from my last post I again used the Another Thank You stamp set and this time used the Best Year Ever DSP pack from the SAB catalogue. This pack of papers is so bright and happy its making me look forward to summer already! I think these papers would look gorgeous used as scrapbook pages and I'm looking forward to using them for some of my holiday pictures this year!

I also have used one of my favourite items from the Spring Summer Catalogue - the Bow Builder Punch! It makes the most adorable bows without any of the fiddly cutting out, just two punches of paper and you have all the parts to make the bow.
