Stampin Up! European Convention 2014 Part 2… Journey to Brussels

Amy Fraser

My Convention weekend was also the start of a 6 day holiday for me and what better way to start the trip then with a bit of bubbly! While we were waiting for the Eurostar at St Pancras my fellow demos and I enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco with our lunch and caught up with all the latest SU gossip!

The Eurostar was such an enjoyable experience, so much less stressful then traveling abroad by plane. Getting through security was quick and easy and the people there were really lovely even when we set of the metal detectors! :) The benefit of have no baggage restrictions was brilliant for an overpacked like me.  I also completely agree with the important message given on the napkins :)

We arrived at around 4.30PM and after dropping our bags off at our hotels we went straight to the convention centre to register. While we walked we enjoyed the lovely weather and some pretty gorgeous views!

A lot of the demonstrators went to an evening card class on Thursday evening, however I used this time to explore the city a bit and get my bearings. I loved walking around in the early evening and the city looked amazing lit up, the Grand Place is full of gold and the atmosphere was just spectacular.

After the classes ended, we all met up and had dinner and drinks at the Grand Place. I was a bit worried I would struggle with drinks as I don't like beer but the second drink of choice in Brussels was Cava and it was served at every bar by the glass (or by the bottle), so I was a very happy demo with my drink of choice for the rest of the Holiday!

The next day was full of classes and inspiration, we got the opporutiy to get involved with some makes, and even took part in a competition for prizes! I was luck enough to win some lovely stuff from the autumn and winter catalogue and the new seasonal supplement!

At lunch we took our kits and stamp sets given to us at registration and did some creating of our own! Here I am with a fellow demonstrator Cat showing off our lovely cards!

After lunch we explored the demonstrator area where some amazing demonstrators had provided a wealth of inspiration. here are just a few of my favourite photos. then we were back for even more talks and classes before going back to our hotels to get ready for awards night!

Come back for part 3 tomorrow to hear about Awards night and the last day of convention!
